AUTOGRAPH — END USER LICENCE AGREEMENT Version 1.0 · 2026-07-28 © 2026 Ethan H.B. Zhou This agreement is between you and Ethan H.B. Zhou ("the author"). By installing or using Autograph ("the software") you accept it. If you do not accept it, do not install or use the software. 1. LICENCE GRANTED The author grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the software on any device you own or control, for any purpose, personal or commercial, at no charge. This is a licence to use the software, not a sale of it. The author retains ownership of the software, and all rights not expressly granted here are reserved. 2. WHAT YOU MAY NOT DO You may not: (a) redistribute, publish, rent, lease, lend, or otherwise make the software available to others as a download; (b) sell, sublicense, or charge anyone for access to the software; (c) remove or alter any copyright, authorship, or licence notice; (d) reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits despite this restriction. Sending someone the download address is welcome. Passing the file around yourself is not, and the reason is practical rather than proprietary: every release is published with a checksum beside it, and a copy that arrives by some other route cannot be checked against anything. 3. YOUR DOCUMENTS REMAIN YOURS The software edits ordinary Markdown files that you supply. The author claims no rights over anything you write with it, receives no copy of it, and no part of it is transmitted to the author by the software. 4. UPDATES This licence covers later versions of the software, unless a version is accompanied by different terms — in which case those terms govern that version. 5. NO WARRANTY THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT. Stated plainly, because it matters more than the capital letters: this is a pre-1.0 release, and it reads and rewrites the files you point it at. Keep backups of anything you cannot afford to lose. 6. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE AUTHOR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES, OR OTHER LIABILITY — INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOST OR CORRUPTED DATA, LOST PROFITS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION — ARISING FROM OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR ITS USE, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or liabilities. Where that is so, the exclusions above apply only to the extent permitted, and nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited. 7. TERMINATION This licence ends automatically if you breach it. On termination you must stop using the software and delete your copies. Sections 3, 5, and 6 survive termination. 8.
